| When: | On Monday mornings Weeks 1 & 3 |
| Venue: | Dingwall Library |
The group meets fortnightly on Monday from 10-11:30 AM in the Dingwall Library. We are a very small group (at the moment!), led by Gordon.
We can provide access to helpful books, writing manuals, script templates, and the like. Advice is available for beginners regarding materials and basic techniques. No prior knowledge or experience is needed - simply an enthusiasm for what is an ancient craft, that of producing fine writing.
Is your handwriting putting you off? Please don't worry on that account - it could hardly be worse than mine. As with so much in our modern world, handwriting is so often done in a hurry, and can lead to a barely legible scrawl (yes, I'm thinking of my own here). With Calligraphy, we slow right down, forming each letter individually, with care and focus. You may be surprised at how well it can turn out.
Whether you want to produce your own Christmas cards, try your hand at a humanistic illuminated capital, or copy a piece of literature into Gothic script, we may be able to help you do that, and more.
